In the second installment of the Valerie Vargas episode, Vice takes a closer look at Frith Street, the tattoo parlor where she works, and its owner, Dante DiMassa. Valerie also gives us insight into her development as a tattooer and why London will be her home base for the foreseeable future.

Tattoo Age is back. In Season Two VICE travels the world to feature different artists from all ends of the tattoo spectrum, including Valerie Vargas of the UK, Mutsuo of Japan, and Thom deVita of New York City. Each artists’ episodes will include three installments, airing every Wednesday on VICE.COM.

First up – Valerie Vargas, whose first installment will air next Wednesday, September 12th.

In the third and final episode of the Freddy Corbin series, we see exclusive footage of Freddy parachuting at the age of 24 and hear the personal, intimate details of his young life and career – from the early days of his drug abuse, to living in Amsterdam’s Red Light District, his brother’s tragic death, and being petrified of starting a family.

Freddy depicts what it’s like to get caught up in a “shit storm” of drug use and how spiritual trips to India jump-started his positive outlook on the world.

In the first installment of the Freddy Corbin series, we get familiar with Freddy’s tattoos and see his two Oakland tattoo parlors, Temple and Tattoo 13. Freddy’s style is explained by his right hand man and fellow tattooer, Jason Mcafee. We also get a chance to speak with another Oakland legend, pro skater and chopper guy, Max Schaaf, about understanding Mr. Corbin.

In the third and final episode of the Mike Rubendall’s Tattoo Age series, Mike gives us a glimpse into his busy schedule: getting up at 5am every morning in order to draw sketches before Dad-duties begin. Mike’s mentor, Frank Romano, talks about the many ways in which Mike has surprised him throughout his career with his work hard, play hard mentality, that leaves no room for vacations.

In this episode, Tattoo Age talks to Mike’s mentor, Frank Romano, about Mike’s early days as a budding artist, when he would trace over drawings out of magazines to perfect his style. Mike talks about how he has been fascinated by tattoos, breathing and living the craft since he was seventeen.

In this episode, Tattoo Age meets Mike’s two adorable daughters and goes on a drive around his small suburban town – bumping into his good buddy, actor Steve Guttenberg. They also visit Mike’s tattoo shop, King’s Avenue Tattoo, and talk to him about his upbringing as a normal, middle-class, kid.
