Sylvia Ji “Las Adelitas”

Post Image

Sylvia Ji gives Hi-Fructose exclusive images in anticipation of her upcoming show.

“Las Adelitas de Azatlan was an all female Mexican revolutionary group founded in the 1970s who based their ideologies and identity with the soldaderas of the Mexican Revolution. Henry Lewis x Sylvia Ji

In a related Sylvia Ji post…

“Painter Sylvia Ji shows off some of her tattoos done by her friend and contemporary, San Francisco based artist Henry Lewis. Ji explains her newest tattoo choice, why it serves as a self portrait and how it relates to her “one love”— her artwork. Over the course of the tattoo, they recall late night art sessions, whiskey-influenced tattoos, and the downfalls of drinking in Mexico.”
